Properties of Lepa sand

Production
The polymer, which is about 10% of the total composition, imparts kinetic properties to the Lepa sand. We developed our own formula of this polymer and assembled a reactor to produce this binding material.

The remaining 90% is the purest quartz sand, which is exploited for glass industry.

The production is located in the territory of the Russian Federation.


Safety
An antiseptic is added to the sand. It is safe enough even for eating. At the same time, it is strong enough to prevent the bacterial growth in sand.

Only non-toxic components are used in production of the binding polymer. As a result, it is absolutely harmless, even if the child starts to eat sand. Still we do not recommend you to let your child do it. The same polymer is exploited for food industry.

Endurability
Lepa sand is a hydrophobic material. It is easy to rinse after ingress of contamination. Sticks only to itself, so it’s easy to clean up and remove it after game.

Easily restores its properties even after drying.
Types of Lepa sand
Classic
In properties kinetic sand is just as aqua sand, but it keeps its shape better, and it’s easier to clean up and remove it.
Color
An additional ingredient, coloring pigment, is added to this type of sand. The coloring pigment is made from minerals, which makes it completely safe and allows to mix colors.
Aromatized
Sand with addition of the flavor compound. It is completely safe and does not wears off for a long time.
Changing colors
This type of sand changes color in thermal and light forces. It is the novel solution of the lab — does not have any analogues.
Hydro Sand
It contains a water-repelling component, which allows sand to come dry out the water.
Neon
Sand with the addition of the particles, illuminated in ultraviolet light.
Lepa-Foam
Stretchy kinetic sand.
Shimmering Snow
Powder, with the addition of water turns into snow.
Lepa-Gel
Powder, with the addition of water turns into a thick gel.
Some modifications are released as separate products, and some as fillers for the interactive Aris sandbox.
Solution
Kinetic sand was invented in Sweden in 2013. In winter of 2015 we set up new project of the kinetic sand analogue named Lepa sand. In the chemical laboratory DI Labs, we developed our own formula of the product. The reactor for synthesizing binding polymer was developed separately and assembled in the design and prototyping departments.

Lepa sand consists of ordinary quartz sand and a binding polymer, which gives it unique physical properties. An antiseptic is added to the sand, which prevents the bacterial growth.

For the last 1.5 years we have expanded production matrix from 1 kind of a product to the line of 43 kinds.
Some of them still none can be duplicated, for example, thermochromic sand, which changes color in thermal forces.

We do not just copy someone’s ideas, but create our own new technologies. DI Labs is not the only producer of the kinetic sand in Russia, but it is the only company who patented its development in Russia. Formula and production technology are also patented.
